Picture Test

At The Cocktail Party
“Oh at last! Mummy, listen, you’ve got to get me away from this kid! I tried talking to her, really I did, but all the little dummy does is blow bubbles. I tell you, the kid’s got NO conversation!“

You know, the hat was a tip-off re: boring conversation. I, for one, avoid people wearing hats at parties, especially “Sherlock Holmes” things, Greek Fisherman’s caps, and Australian Drover’s hats.
Pretentious twits, all of them.
Cheers.

first – your girls are adorable. there’s nothing worse than having an ugly baby, so well done there.
second – i have forgotten what was to be second. but you can bet you’ll be sorry you missed out on it.

Oh I didn’t realise they were the girls. of course – such little sweeties -kissy kissykisssy!

Those people are babies, I believe.
Hmm. I’ve had nothing to do with their sort in years.

The pic loads relatively rapidly, I am on the dialup so live in fear of a picture, while a vidio is something one does when I bring the dog for a long walk.
Lovely shot, BTW. something to treasure.

Rand, and bow ties.
Kara, I had to squeeze their heads in vices to get that cute look I was after.
Jo, dribblesters!
Pat, it’s them alright. 5 and some years ago. We were playing cocktail parties and I was teaching them how to work the room.
Bock, that’s funny – I was looking at the campaign coverage last night (“stop picking on our Sarah! She’s a woman, for God’s sake!” and thinking “these people are babies, I believe. I want nothing to do with their sort for all my years.”
Vincent, babies have this almost constant expression of surprise “Oooh! What’s this? Carpet fluff – whoaa! Carpet fluff! That’s the last thing I was expecting to find down here on the carpet! Wow, life is cool!

I rocked a baby at a birthday party the other day. Such a rush of broodiness I got. I was never a baby-doting child growing up, not at all. I couldn’t be bothered with the little exuders. But now, my own kids are 6, I do miss just sitting rocking them and watching them drift off to sleep.

You seem to be, not to put a tooth in it, saying. That when babies cry they are coming off their buzz. You may well be correct for sometimes they do have a ‘What the ….’ and a ‘Who the ….’ look in their eye.

Rocking babies to sleep is great, but you have to be careful about the size of rock you use.

Hey, it’s actually what we do best. Look at them, perfect. And you grew them in there.

Half of a set of twins puked on me yesterday and I didn’t even flinch. Didn’t I do well?
September 28th, 2008 at 2:38 am
Vincent, they’re desperate little junkies, so they are. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, milk is a gateway drug. Pretty soon they want to try pureed carrots and then they move onto the hard stuff.
Bock, you think pebbledashing them to sleep is the way to go? Hmm, it’s a controversial theory. I’d say parents are divided.
Sniffle, Actually, I grew mine in a South-facing window-box. Some days, I’d plum forget to water them, oops! But they grew like little weeds anyways.
Sneezy, You are now in the phase known as Advanced Uncling. As you move about in your daily life, you will no doubt meet others like you: parents,;babysitters; grandparents; uncles and aunties; siblings; even some pets – all of you with that hollow-eyed resignation to life’s little messy moments.

Fabbabas! As we call fabulous babies in these parts. I unaccountably loves ‘em.
September 29th, 2008 at 2:18 am
manuel, mine said wah wah wah a fair bit. Me, their bewildered mother, merely said wha? wha? wha?
Conan, Fabbabas! I think you’ve just come up with this year’s hot new must-have Christmas item! Cabbage Patch Fabbabas! Oh, you and me, we could go places, baby!

1 minute apart, fmc! The wee one’s the eldest.

Excellent – your new website shuffling has finally decided to be recognised by my widget telling me when everyone’s updated their blog.
Meanwhile, I prefer babies when they’re aged between 7 and 11. They’re out of nappies and can feed themselves as well as operate the TV and set the DVD recorder, but haven’t got the raging hormones or yet believe that everything I say is stupid.
October 1st, 2008 at 2:54 am
What cuties! And how clever of you to get a two for one deal.
Ah the broody hormones are a fecker. *rummages in desk for chocolate or something similarly distracting*

Can’t STAND! They MUST come to DC! They simply MUST. We can stick them in the room with Oona and they can entertain each other whilst we all slip out for drinkables. We’ll lock the door of course.

twins. I cannot comprehend. I simply don’t know how you do it.
